NYRP & BAM present Performance by LEIMAY: “Thresholds II” & “In Illo Tempore Vignettes”
LEIMAY: Shige Moriya and Ximena Garnica
On Thursday September 3 and Saturday, September 5th, Leimay will have performances of two pieces in the Gil Hodges Community Garden set to the background of their installation piece, "Qualia Skyhole". A highlight of last year's season, LEIMAY uses dance, theater, music, and light at sunset to explore in “Thresholds II” the fragility and resilience of life through a dance of rising and falling, and in “In Illo Tempore Vignettes” to explore characters suspended in time to reveal what might be considered as eternity. LEIMAY creates sculptural, video, and light installations as well as body rooted contemporary performances of wild physicality and contemplative silence. LEIMAY is based in Brooklyn at their home CAVE where they develop their artwork and host multiple community programs throughout the year.
