Join us for Cooking with your eyes closed: "Page 73" with Leslie Cuyjet, a donation-based event to support the Black Artists Space to Create Residency program of New Dance Alliance! We will make chickpea salad together and gather afterwards to eat and talk.

“In the early 2000s I shared an apartment with four roommates and we loved to cook together. Mark Bittman's ‘How to Cook Everything Vegetarian’ was our bible and we made this recipe so often we simply referred to it by its page number. We were young and broke but occasionally splurged on a pack of craft beer to share. In a pinch we knew we could throw together a can of chickpeas, some leafy greens, red onion, garlic, ginger, and some vinegar and cumin from the spice rack to put together a quick lunch or an impressive dinner with a crusty loaf. This dish satisfies my body, my palate, and my wallet. And I still make it sixteen years later, eyes closed. I hope you will enjoy this simple recipe.”
