Week #1: July 8 - 13
Introductory Workshop - 00
This workshop is appropriate for anyone interested in an introductory experience in the Duncan technique. Classes begin on the floor with fluid warm-up movements and breathing exercises, and then progresses to standing and moving through a series of motions that expand upward and outward to flow through the entire body. All of the movement is supported by music of the great classical masters. Particular attention will be paid to the musicality within the lyrical style based on the natural free movements. There will also be a teacher training component to this workshop.
Week #2: July 15 - 20
Intermediate Workshop - 50
This workshop is appropriate for intermediate dancers and includes skipping, running, and jumping in phrases of Duncan vocabulary. We will explore the layers upon which the technique was built; first understanding and creating the lines, then moving and jumping them, and finally adapting them rhythmically to find and experience the musicality which is the brilliant cornerstone of Isadora's legacy.
