NEW YORK DANCE PROJECT with special guest artist JOAQUIN DE LUZ perform the dances of American masters Joffrey, Arpino, and Robbins alongside contemporary master works by Robert Battle, Dwight Rhoden, and more. A uniquely diverse program curated by Artistic Director Davis Robertson promises to challenge and excite audiences by showcasing young emerging talent and their versatility. Former New York City Ballet principal dancer Joaquin de Luz will be dancing Jerome Robbins' Suite of Dances to live music to round out NYDP's exciting and eclectic programming.
NYDP is a unique hybrid company that defies categorization: its young, talented, emerging dancers and professionals perform repertory ranging from the 19th-century master August Bournonville to the neo-Romantic beauty of Gerald Arpino, to the innovative early work of Robert Joffrey, as well as the electrifying work of contemporary choreographers such as Dwight Rhoden, Robert Battle, Larry Keigwin, Tyler Gilstrap and NYDP Artistic Director Davis Robertson.
