Funds for Renovation Still Needed...

Nimbus Dance Works will move into a new facility at 209 3rd Street in Downtown Jersey City on April 21st. The facility will be home for company rehearsals, School of Nimbus Dance Works classes and administrative offices. The new facility marks an important development for Nimbus and for the arts in Jersey City as Nimbus Dance Works emerges as one of the state's most well-respected dance companies and the School of Nimbus Dance Works establishes itself as a training ground for the dance artists of the future. Nimbus’ move to a centrally located, well-designed space in Jersey City will decisively increase the scope and scale of the company and school.

With Nimbus' new dance facility, be on the look-out for:

-> An elevated public profile of Nimbus' professional dance company incuding more performances, collaborations with celebrated international artists, along with local favorites such as Jersey City Nutcracker and JC Grooves - Nimbus' performances for Jersey City public school students.
-> Added classes for youth and adults - an expansion of Nimbus' curriculum which is grounded in rigorous technical training in Ballet and Modern Dance, includes exposure to dance from all over the world, and supports a humanistic and creative approach to learning dance.
-> Pre-professional training program offering intensive instruction in technique, partnering, repertory, and youth dance company.
-> Public events such as guest master classes, open rehearsals and artist talks.

Special Thanks to Cecilia de Leon & Tom Ogorzalek at Continuum Design LLC for contributing Architectural Plans; and to Paul and Eric Silverman and SILVERMAN for their contribution of Nimbus' new sprung floor - the dancers' knees and ankles will be very grateful!
