In Dig/Hear/Sing/—, artist Ogemdi Ude performs three different solos across three evenings.

Using movement, voice, and installation, Ude contends with distinct experiences of loss and her efforts to develop coping rituals in their aftermath. By charting the lasting marks that loss has made upon her, Ude opens a space for audiences to simultaneously process their own grief. The performances are accompanied by a collection of writings: performance scores, personal essays, and theory that takes a Black femme approach to unpacking death, memory, and mourning.

●      Performance 1-Dig: A ritual of writing, sounding, and embodying the echoes of the sky cracking open.
●      Performance 2-Hear: Pulling from a bereft archive of video and sound bites, Ude attempts to materialize and present the profile of someone lost.
●      Performance 3-Sing: You’re invited to a birthday party — or something like it.
