MOST OUTRAGEOUS GALA OF THE YEAR… CHASHAMA
June 7th, 4 Times Square, 6:00 PM – 12:00 AM, NEW YORK, N.Y.
A mystical candlelit forest... human spirographs... The Ninja Clown Battle Palace…
Every Chashama Gala means entering the realm of artists and a playground of interactive installations; human candelabras, roaming octopi, and an ancient room that holds secrets. This will be brought to life within a 30,000 square foot labyrinth imagined by over 150 artists.
This year’s event will honor renowned artist Tony Bechara and IVY: The Social University.
“This isn’t your grandmother’s charity fundraiser,” Durst says. This dazzling evening will be attended by high-profile leaders from the business, cultural, and philanthropic world.
No other gala in New York offers such a circus of experiences in a single evening. The excitement continues with an After Party from 9 PM to Midnight.
Anita Durst, a patron of the arts since she was 18, founded Chashama in 1995 in response to the lack of affordable space for emerging artists in New York City. Since then, the non-profit has provided space to create and present for 15,000 artists. Chashama partners with property owners to re-purpose dozens of unused spaces in communities across the city, upstate, and in Connecticut and New Jersey.
All proceeds will support Chashama’s mission to give artists space to create and present their work, while providing free art programming in underserved communities.
