The trailblazing choreographer Joan Myers Brown, who founded her extraordinary company Philadanco in 1970, has been engaged in shattering barriers for African Americans in contemporary dance nearly her whole life. This program will feature work by Thang Dao, Ronald K. Brown and Abdel Salaam that originally premiered in James Brown: Get on the Good Foot, a Celebration in Dance, along with a piece by Christopher Huggins and a New York premiere.
