PHILADELPHIA: BalletX Fall Series 2015

Company:
BalletX
Nicolo Fonte, whose choreography has been hailed by Dance Europe as “highly original, fluid and complex, and exhilarating to watch,” returns to BalletX after the success of his 2013 work Beautiful Decay. A daring and unique dancemaker, Fonte is the Resident Choreographer for Ballet West, and he has created work for companies such as The Dutch National Ballet, Pacific Northwest Ballet, and Stuttgart Ballet, among many others. His evening-length world premiere, titled Beasts, will explore the complexities of nature versus nurture to investigate the dramatic contrasts of learned behavior and primal human instincts. With original sets by Obie Award-winning designer Mimi Lien, lighting design by Drew Billiau, and costumes by Christine Darch, this new work promises to stretch movement to its expressive limits.
