PHILADELPHIA, PA: BalletX Summer Series 2016

Company:
BalletX
BalletX, Philadelphia’s premier contemporary ballet company, presents Summer Series 2016 at The Wilma Theater, July 6-17, featuring world premieres by choreographers Matthew Neenan and Annabelle Lopez Ochoa in collaboration with virtual art shop Klip Collective. Neenan’s work will comprise geometric shapes and optical illusions, forming the backdrop for a meditation on memory, and a touching tribute to the life of a dear friend. Ochoa’s piece follows the journey of a lone man into the world of surrealist Rene Magritte, encompassing skyscapes of bowler hats, apples, and windows. Working closely with each choreographer, Klip Collective will integrate immersive projection lighting and technology with storytelling to create compelling experiences, which have been commissioned by Sundance Film Festival, Philadelphia Flower Show, Philadelphia International Festival of the Arts, and Longwood Gardens.
