Position Description:

[Hybrid: Remote and in-person]

The Booking Agent of Koresh Dance Company will report to the Executive Director and will be responsible for meeting touring revenue projections by securing and  negotiating touring contracts with venues and dancer agreements. The booking manager will oversee touring engagements by managing touring logistics and administering all communication between presenters/ venues and the company, dancers and technical staff.  

The position seeks a highly organized, self-motivated, and individual who is passionate about the performing arts. Our office is located in Rittenhouse Square in Philadelphia.  Candidates should have excellent inter-personal skills, a background in project management, sales or communication preferred.  

 

Essential Duties and Responsibilities include the following:

  • Maintain relationships with existing clients/ presenters
  • Manage pipeline of leads and maintain database of existing and new clients (experience with Salesforce preferred)
  • Expand database of potential performance venues.
  • Attend booking conferences.  Travel required ~3x annually.
  • Oversee contract process between presenters and the company, to include but not limited to negotiating terms, editing riders,  executing agreement and maintaining payment schedule. 
  • Prepare and edit technical riders and ensure venues meet technical and hospitality requirements.
  • Act as a liaison between Koresh Technical Team and the theater technical director during tours.
  •  Arrange travel logistics such as booking flights, cars, and hotels.
  • Oversee scheduling touring education and ancillary activities, including scheduling appropriate touring staff.
  • Maintain the company’s touring calendar and communication throughout the Koresh organization of scheduled engagements and blackout dates.
  •  Seek out cost-saving opportunities through travel programs, mileage, car rentals, hotels, etc.
  • Assist in the creation of marketing materials for conferences and to assist presenters in marketing  Koresh Dance Company.
  • Coordinate marketing materials and program notes with presenters.
  • Develop a detailed tour itinerary for the company.
  • Assist in responding to press requests.
  •  Enhance the company's social media presence.
  • Assist presenters in identifying funding opportunities and support presenters grant applications.

 

Requirements:

Qualification

  • 3+ years experience in art touring/management. 
  •  Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, and the ability to develop and maintain long term professional relationships
  • Extremely organized and able to manage and prioritize multiple projects at once
  • Thorough understanding of the performing arts.
  • Strong ability to confidently and professionally interact and communicate with individuals at all levels of the organization

Education/Training/Experience

  • BA Degree or equivalent experience
