Kun-Yang Lin/ Dancers (KYLD) seeks both male and female dancers with a strong technical base and creative appetite for employment starting immediately.
KYL/D is a Philadelphia-based contemporary dance company, under the leadership of Artistic Director, Kun-Yang Lin. In addition to its Philadelphia season/s, the company tours internationally and nationally. The company works 32-38 weeks per year, 15-20 hours per week (including company class). Dancers are paid at a competitive hourly rehearsal rate, in addition to performance fees. Other benefits include free access to studio space when available, free company classes, a platform to share choreographic work at the InHale Performance Series, and opportunities for additional teaching and outreach pay. KYL/D is a small company of diverse, compelling dance artists, capable of both complementing each other as a cohesive unit, and emerging as strong solo artists. Kun-Yang’s work demands a heightened physical capacity and a mature artistic expression.
Auditions will take place 7/25-7/29. These “audition-shops” are open to the public. Dancers interested in auditioning are strongly encouraged to attend the entire week of workshops for maximum exposure. However, where such participation is not possible, auditioning dancers may drop-in for just one day or more as their scheduling allows. Dancers will be notified on Friday afternoon about a callback. The call-back will take place from 2-4pm, immediately following Saturday's workshop from 12:30-2:00pm. If invited for a callback, dancers should prepare to be at the studio on Saturday from 12:30pm-4pm.
Additionally, dancers interested in auditioning for KYL/D will receive a discounted rate of $10 for each day of the workshops.
