Kun-Yang Lin/ Dancers (KYLD) seeks male and female dance artists for company member and apprentice positions for the 2019-2020 season. KYL/D is interested in professional dancers who are: committed to working at a high technical level, adventurous collaborators, responsible group members, and interested in community impact through dance. Dancers of diverse backgrounds are encouraged to audition.
KYL/D is a Philadelphia-based contemporary dance company, under the leadership of Artistic Director, Kun-Yang Lin. The company works 32-36 weeks per year, 15-17 hours per week (including company class). Dancers are paid at an hourly rehearsal rate, in addition to performance fees. Other benefits include free access to studio space when available, company classes, a platform to share choreographic work at the InHale Performance Series, and opportunities for additional teaching and outreach pay.
The week of the “audition-shops” are open to the public, and while dancers interested in working with the company are encouraged to attend all week for maximum exposure, dancers may also choose to drop in for just one day, or as many days as scheduling allows. All classes will be taught by Kun-Yang Lin and will take place Monday August 5 - Friday August 9th from 10-11:30am. Call-backs will take place on Thursday, August 8th from 11:45am-1:45pm and Friday, August 9th from 11:45am-1:45pm.
Dancers interested in auditioning for KYL/D will receive a discounted rate of $10 for each day of the workshops. The audition form details contact information, payment options, dates attending audition, as well as uploading the required documents: a one page resume, dance photo, headshot and an optional video link.
