THE VOICES OF WOMEN IN FLAMENCO:
An Evening of Contemporary and Traditional Tablao Flamenco with Pasion y Arte
Friday, April 19 @ 8PM | Fleisher Art Memorial
Join Pasion y Arte, Philadelphia’s premier all female contemporary flamenco dance company, for an evening celebrating the distinct voices of women in flamenco through contemporary and tablao flamenco. This special evening will combine contemporary flamenco choreographed by PyA Artistic Director, Elba Hevia y Vaca, with the recreation of the intimate cafe-like atmosphere, called tablao, where flamencos showcased their dancing before the art form was institutionalized into more theatrical performances. The Voices of Women in Flamenco will feature PyA’s ensemble of flamenco artists from Philadelphia and New York including, Elba Hevia y Vaca, Sol “La Argentinita”, Raphael Brunn, Sara Candela, Leilani Chirino, Kumiko Koide, and Barbara Martinez.
**Evening will include a complimentary reception with wine and food to enjoy **
