PORT CHESTER, NY: Ballet des Amériques in "The Nutcracker Dream"
Ballet des Amériques
Ballet des Amériques will present “The Nutcracker Dream” at their studio theater in Port Chester this December. The audience will step into Marie’s dream, a magical adaptation of the traditional Nutcracker. Marie falls asleep and envisions a grand party, which then morphs into The Land of Sweets.
The ballet was choreographed and coached by Artistic Director Carole Alexis, with excerpts after Rudolph Nureyev. The performance will feature the students of the Ballet des Amériques school, supported by the professional dancers of the company. The students will play the children in the party scene and various sweets in Act Two: Land of the Sweets.
Ballet des Amériques’ “The Nutcracker Dream” is a child and family friendly ballet that is a wonderful way to ring in the holiday season. Performances are Saturday, December 16 at 5 p.m. and 6:30 p.m. as well as Sunday, December 17 at 3 p.m. and 4:30 p.m. Tickets are $25 per person.
