RIGHT OF WAY
One simple chromosome – JUST ONE.
Within moments of arriving into the world, based entirely on our genitals, we are decorated with either a pink or blue bow. Without saying a word, without lifting a finger, our identities assumed, our paths decided. Or are they?
With dry wit and pathos, RIGHT OF WAY— an original full-evening length, multidisciplinary dancetheater work — asks who gets to determine gender roles, and at what psychological costs?
And on some level — aren’t we all “in drag”?
