This course examines the work of self-producing choregraphers in NYC, explores performances venues around town, and their programming.
Guest speakers in class as well as class trips to theaters to catch a fascinating behind the scenes glimpse of what it takes to make live dance happen in the Big Apple.
Select dance performances that are related to the course are recommended and are a topic of discussion in class.
The course is designed to enrich the knowledge of seasoned dance enthusiasts as well as to introduce dance novices to the art form.
