Renaissance Ghosts: A Hallowe'en Masquerade

Company:
Baruch Performing Arts Center and Sonnambula
Come to Baruch Performing Arts Center for a renaissance dance class with historical dance specialist Thomas Baird, who will introduce you to the rhythmic forms that renaissance music is built on, then stay for a concert by Sonnambula of rarely heard pieces written for the Tudor courts. The concert will feature songs of spirits and witches dances just in time for Halloween! Praised as “superb” by Alex Ross in The Rest is Noise, and hailed as a “fine home-town group,” by The New Yorker, Sonnambula is a Renaissance ensemble that brings to light unknown music for various combinations of early instruments. The dance class is free. The concert is a ticketed event. Tickets by phone: 212-352-3101, online at www.baruch.cuny.edu/bpac
