SANDS POINT, NY: Newly Revived Isadora Duncan Dances & Original Works
Company:
Dance Visions NY
Dance Visions NY is collaborating with Sands Point Preserve in creating a multi-faceted dance/art program which fully complements the venue. The program will begin inside Hempstead House with Isadora Duncan's Chopin repertory performed around the fountain with live piano accompaniment. It will proceed to the Winter Living room with a rarely seen dance to Frederic's Chopin's Berceuse followed by a "Greek Frieze"- mythology based Duncan works to the music of Christophe Glück, and lastly original Jucovy dances created and tailored for the space. The program will continue outdoors in the Rose Garden and conclude with newly revived Isadora Duncan's heroic Allegro Molto Vivace section of the Tchaikovsky Symphony "Pathetique", a dance of triumph and victory. Please call Dance Visions NY at 516.314.2359 for further information about the program.
This program is made possible in part with funds from the Decentralization Program, a regrant program of the New York State Council on the Arts with the support of Governor Andrew Cuomo and the New York State Legislature and is administered by The Huntington Arts Council, Inc. Additional support through the North Shore Community Arts Council
