PEARSONWIDRIG DANCETHEATER (directed by Sara Pearson and Patrik Widrig) has gained an international following for work that transforms the familiar into the mysterious, the subversive, and the intimate. Creating and presenting "American dance theater at its funniest and most compelling" (NZZ, Switzerland) since 1987, they have toured extensively throughout the US, Europe, Latin America, and Asia. Dance Place will present the world premiere of Sayonara, Dear inspired by the final love affair of Ms. Pearson's 86-year-old mother. The evening also includes Drama with opera singer Madeline Miskie and Watkins Glen, a work in progress with Japanese/Peruvian composer Pauchi Sasaki. Supported in part by the NEA.
