Steps Beyond continues its Artists Talk Series with "Dance Company or No Dance Company: That is the Question," a frank discussion with dance company Artistic Directors on the pros and cons of starting and maintaining a dance company, Friday April 25, 8 PM, in the spacious 4th floor studio at Steps, 2121 Broadway (between 74th & 75th Streets). The speakers, representing various genres of dance, will share their thoughts on this very difficult, demanding, and hopefully rewarding enterprise and, as always, will take questions from the audience. As with all events, the evening will end with a reception for more talk, questions, mingling and meeting the speakers.
The panel of Artistic Directors for what promises to be a very lively discussion:
Lori Belilove, Isadora Duncan Dance Company
Sidra Bell, Sidra Bell Dance
Andrew Nemr, Cats Paying Dues Plus
Bradley Shelver, Steps Repertory Ensemble
Nancy Turano, NJ Dance Theater Ensemble

Andrew Nemr, the tap voice on the panel, co-founded The Tap Legacy Foundation with his mentor Gregory Hines, was a 2012 TED fellow in Edinburgh, and has taught and danced around the world. He is the founder of CPD Plus (Cats Paying Dues).
Bradley Shelver, Artistic Director of Steps Repertory Ensemble, the resident contemporary dance company of Steps on Broadway. The Ensemble commissions both internationally acclaimed and emerging choreographers, to create new works and to restage repertory for the Company.
Nancy Turano, a former principal dancer with Ballet Hispanico, has been a member of the Ailey faculty since 1996, and Artistic Director of the New Jersey Dance Theater Ensemble since 1994, a company that presents a varied repertory of contemporary works.
