THE BIG DRAW

The Equus Projects
by performing an installation, titled "Red, Yellow, Blue."
"Red, Yellow, Blue" is a kinetic installation that features a cast of 12 dancers
and 4 visual artists engaged in a process that uses moving bodies to create
visual design in 3-dimensional space and art-making that is created inside the
choreography.
The cast of 12 dancers function as small trios or herds, with each herd
completely clothed and painted in one color (red, blue, yellow). Each herd
gradually builds a movement phrase that is directly based on the ambient crowd
behavior. Each herd has its own visual artist who is sketching the evolution
of kinetic material. The intermingling herds of red, blue, yellow orchestrate
themselves with an eye towards creating shifting patterns of color.
