In honor of the upcoming festive Diwali season, Navatman Inc is proud to present part one of a three years series: The Mahabharata: Of Vengeance & Promises. Featuring a 21 member cast, Navatman’s Broadway-style production features english dialogue, original musical compositions and choreography, and a wide range of Indian Classical Arts including bharatanatyam, kathak, kalaripayattu, carnatic and hindustani classical music and more. The Mahabharata will be hitting the stage on October 25, 2019 at Symphony Space in the Peter Jay Sharp Theatre. Don’t miss your chance to watch this truly one-of-kind production as we bring this powerful literary classic to the American stage!

“The idea behind this year is to really delve into how the path down destruction is really paved by a group of people with strong ideas between what’s right and wrong,” says Sahasra Sambamoorthi.

“It ends up being extremely relevant to the world we live in now...and we really want people to relate to these epics beyond watching them from a historical or cultural standpoint,” says Samyukta Ranganathan.

Co-founder Sridhar Shanmugam adds, “It’s important for us as an immigrant community to also try to share our culture in this way during a holiday everyone knows and associates with India - Diwali.”
