Master puppet and mask maker Ralph Lee presents his Mettawee River Theatre Company in their new production of "Taliesin," adapted by Ralph Lee & Casey Compton from a medieval Welsh legend. Script is by poet Robert Bagg; choreography by Hilary Easton, original music by Neal Kirkwood performed by Ed RosenBerg. The fantastic giant figures, puppets and masks are by Ralph Lee, recipient of a Bessie, a Guggenheim Fellowship, a Fulbright Scholarship, a NYS Governor's Arts Award for his contributions to the artistic and cultural life of NYS, and an Obie for organizing the first Greenwich Village Halloween Parade, which he directed through 1985. The cast of exceptional singer/actor/puppet handlers play multiple roles, and are led by company veteran Rob McFadyen. 6 performances, Fri/Sat/Sun at 7:30 PM, Sept. 6-15 in the Outdoor Garden of the Cathedral of St. John the Divine, 111 St. & Amsterdam.
