The 55th Annual Dance Magazine Awards

 

(September 19, 2012) New York, NY  Beloved ABT principal Julie Kent, Ailey powerhouse Renee Robinson, acclaimed dance critic Anna Kisselgoff, and tap dance legend Dianne Walker will all grace the stage at The Ailey Citigroup Theater (405 West 55th St) in Manhattan on Monday, December 3, 2012 as they’re honored at this year’s prestigious Dance Magazine Awards.

Judith Jamison presents the award to Robinson, who takes her final bow after 30 years with Alvin Ailey American Dance Theater during their upcoming New York season.  Artistic director of TapDancin, Inc., Dianne Walker will celebrate the evening with dance historian and author, Constance Valis Hill. 

Presenting to former New York Times Chief Dance Critic Anna Kisselgoff is modern dance choreographer, Lar Lubovitch.  Capping off the night is American Ballet Theatre’s artistic director, Kevin McKenzie, as he pays tribute to film and ballet star, Julie Kent.

Performances by Renee Robinson, dancers from American Ballet Theatre, and tap dance luminaries complete the star-studded event.

Doors open at 7:00 pm.  The program begins at 7:30 pm.
