ACB Dance Company to Perform at New York Live Arts
New York, NY—The ACB Dance Company will perform its first independent concert at New
York Live Arts on October 26, 2013 at 7:30 p.m. Ten dancers from the ACB Dance Company will be
performing along with guest artists who have currently or previously been dancers with New York City
Ballet, Pennsylvania Ballet, the Paul Taylor 2 Dance Company, and the Bill T. Jones/Arnie Zane Dance
Company. The program will include six varied pieces performed in three acts. ACB Dance Company is
dedicating this show to Career Transition for Dancers in order to raise awareness about the organization
and help dancers in the NYC dance community.
ACB Dance Company is a classically-based modern dance company, founded in 2012 by
Alison Cook Beatty, dedicated to exploring the universal human condition through expansive and
emotionally driven movement grounded in American modern dance. The healing and transformational
power of the arts inspires the company to work with diverse groups within the community, in addition to
collaborating with other artists.
“I am blessed to have the opportunity to work with a group of extremely talented and inspiring
dancers who bring life to my choreography in a way I've never dreamed,” commented Ms. Cook
Beatty. “The company is so grateful to have the opportunity to bring our work to the venerated New
York institution, New York Live Arts, and to bring recognition to a key dancecommunity
organization, Career Transition for Dancers.”
The performance takes place at the New York Live Arts Theater located at 219 West 19th
