Announcing the Choreographers for Volume III, Issue I

NEW YORK CITY – the CURRENT SESSIONS is pleased to announce our Programming Schedule and Choreographers for Volume III, Issue I., taking place March 1-3, 2013 in partnership with the wild project theater, an 89-seat, eco-friendly black box venue in the East Village.

The CURRENT SESSIONS is a contemporary dance series that showcases works from choreographers in New York City and beyond. Conceived in July 2011 to bring like-minded contemporary choreographers together and present work that is in-the-moment and reflective of our current state of mind and process, our MISSION is to present high-caliber dance works by groundbreaking choreographers in New York City that show original creative flow, take risks, and are reflective of the current working process and aesthetic of the artist, while serving as an incubator for the furtherance of each choreographer's artistic vision.

After the great success of Volume II (July 2012) with sold-out audiences, generous feedback and the knowledge that we are creating a buzz in New York City’s contemporary dance scene, Volume III promises to be the best yet with its inclusion of the following:

• 4 live performances showcasing the next generation of contemporary dancemakers
• 16 choreographers
• 2 dance films
• Workshops with our Choreographers leading up to the SESSIONS
• A TalkBack at the end of our Sunday matinee SESSION
• A locally-sponsored AfterParty in the East Village (location TBA)
