Spark(edIt) Arts

In their premiere evening length performance, Nadia Tykulsker/Spark(edIt) Arts present This Is An Act of P Ass Ion, an unnerving sexually charged dance theater compilation. With a combination of tongue-twisting text and explosive physicality, the work will lure audiences to lust, laughter, and the inevitable edges of comfort. Through the lens of multiple relationships, the performers explore various acts of passion and how those deliberate exploits permeate their everyday living.

This Is An Act of P Ass Ion is directed and choreographed by Nadia Tykulsker with her performers. Videography and animation by Christine Hucal and Michelle Chamuel; live vocal performance and arrangement by Theo Katzman and Hannah Winkler; costumes designed by Sophie Torok. It is performed by: Jessica Jolly, EmmaGrace Skove-Epes, Kristi Ann Schopfer, Austin Selden, Jeff Shortt, Sarah Burke, Tara Sheena, and Nadia Tykulsker.

About Spark(edIt) Arts

Spark(edIt) Arts was created to be a forum to bring dancers and artists of different mediums together to make collaborative works of dance theater. A method of artistic activism, our goal is to create a space for a wide range of audiences to question the ideas we bring up. In our first year of existence we have showcased our work at venues such as WaxWorks, RoofTop Dance, Dance New Amsterdam, and Dixon Place, as well as Baltimore, and Michigan. We received an exciting write-up in Dance Informa; and stretched our collaborative efforts to choreograph fashion shows and music videos for some of our favorite Brooklyn-based artists.
