New York Live Arts kicks off its third season on September 25, 2013 with Boyzie Cekwana and Panaibra Canda’s The Inkomati (dis)cord. With over 100 performances by nearly 40 featured artists our season is jam-packed with must-see performances featuring artists like Donna Uchizono, Molissa Fenley, Jérôme Bel and Theater Hora, Elena Demyanenko & Dai Jian, Beth Gill, John Jasperse, Kimberly Bartosik and Trisha Brown Dance Company and others.

Call for Choreographers: Apply to Audition for the Fresh Tracks Performance and Residency Program
Audition applications are now online for the 2013-14 Fresh Tracks Program! Fresh Tracks, a program created in 1965 by Dance Theater Workshop, is intended for emerging choreographers in the early years of making and promoting their work. New York Live Arts is committed to providing a platform for new artistic voices to gain professional experience and recognition in the field.
Interested choreographers should download and read the Fresh Tracks Guidelines & FAQ, and submit an Audition Form via email to enter into the random lottery for an audition slot. This year's auditions are being held October 6, 7 and 13, 2013 in the New York Live Arts theater.
All forms must be received by August 7, 2013 at 10am EST to be considered.

What we talk about when we talk about Interdisciplinarity
An open discussion in the Live Arts studio

Fresh from a 4-day residency and the Moving Arts Lab at Earthdance in Western Massachusetts, members of the second annual gathering of the International Interdisciplinary Artists Consortium (IIAC) will be present to share their discoveries and lead a discussion in the art of interdisciplinary creation, performance and education. Curated and facilitated by New York-based performer, choreographer, educator and administrator Peter Sciscioli, this year's IIAC includes four artists from Eastern Europe whose participation is supported by Live Arts's Suitcase Fund, and several of their American colleagues and collaborators. Panelists to date are: Sciscioli, Ana Sofrenovic (Belgrade, Serbia), Ursula Eagly (New York), Iskra Sukarova (Skopje, Macedonia), Daniel Han (Wroclaw, Poland), Guillaumarc Froidevaux (Wroclaw, Poland), Ben Spatz (Brooklyn), Maximilian Balduzzi (Brooklyn), Krista DeNio (Northampton), Tara Rynders (Boulder) and Martin Lanz Landazuri (Mexico City).

The Suitcase Fund, in partnership with The International Center for dance and performance TSEKH, is supporting teaching residencies at the International Summer Dance School TSEKH in Moscow, Russia by artists Anna Azrieli (July 15-20) and Kayvon Pourazar (Jul 22 - Aug 3), which culminates this week. This week is the launch of the International Interdisciplinary Artists Consortium (IIAC) residency and Moving Arts Lab begins at Earthdance, organized by Peter Sciscioli with guest artists from Macedonia, Poland, Serbia, and the US, from August 1-14. The IIAC will culminate with a public discussion in the New York Live Arts studio the evening of Monday, August 12 at 7pm (event listed above).
