Triskelion Arts Presents Cori Marquis + the Nines [IX]
Cori Marquis + the Nines [IX]
Triskelion Arts presents the premiere of Cori Marquis + the Nines [IX]’s newest evening of choreography, #nofilter. Running for a one-show-only special engagement March 29 at the brand new Muriel Schulman Theater, the evening will feature a new work exploring the profane mess of being human.
With text and film woven into high-powered physicality, #nofilter digs into the beautiful chaos of human thoughts, actions, and bodies, and the desperate filters people apply to make themselves appear untainted. “[Winning] over the audience’s hearts and funny bones” (Bonnie Rosenstock, ExploreDance), Marquis looks not only at the sterilization that occurs, but also at what the mess actually looks like if we allow it to exist out in the open. Comedic, raw, and openhearted, #nofilter invites both the performers and the audience to set aside their filters, even if only for the moment.
The performers are: Alexander Dones, Cori Marquis, Donnell Oakley, and Jordan Risdon
#nofilter was created with the support of the Bessie Schonberg Choreographer Mentorship and Residency at the Yard on Martha’s Vineyard, as well as generous individuals. Cori Marquis + the Nines [IX] is fiscally sponsored by the Field.
