Triskelion Arts is pleased to present a shared program of new work by Becky Radway Dance Projects and Leanne Schmidt & Company this September 19 - 20 in the Muriel Schulman Theater.
This September marks 13 years of creating original dance works professionally for artistic director, Becky Radway, and the company is thrilled to be topping it off with the presentation of their latest piece, Nonetheless. Becky Radway Dance Projects creates innovative movement and introduces powerful, unforgettable imagery with each new production. Incorporating detailed gestures and lush partnering along with luscious music by singer/songwriter Elliott Smith, Nonetheless invites audiences to experience a collection of entwined duets, invoking the tensions and joys that are possible inside chance encounters, unbalanced partnerships, and intimate connections.
"Radway is no minimalist, yet no detail seemed extraneous… It was a treat to see so much thought going into every aspect of the performance."
– The Dance Enthusiast in regards to Becky Radway Dance Projects
Leanne Schmidt and Company’s collaborative, comical work tickles its viewers with melodramatic movement rife with sincere sentiment. Developed through improvisational games and expressive play, the company combines tightly interwoven choreography and subtle gesture with content that is inarguably relatable, resulting in work that is simultaneously heartbreaking, hysterical and rich with metaphor.
“...really sincere work that really got us excited about the state of choreography today.”
– Phoenix New Times in regards to Leanne Schmidt & Company
