Triskelion Arts is pleased to present new work by Kizuna Dance this September in the Muriel Schulman Theater. The company premieres two new works and revives a repertory piece, all centered around the Japanese culture. "Foretoken" recreates the visual artwork of Manabu Ikeda, translating pen strokes into hyper-physical patterns that blend floorwork and contemporary sensibilities. A modern remix of the heron maiden folktale, "Koibito" tells the story of a nihilist salaryman who falls for a bunraku puppet disguised as a beautiful woman. Inspired by Buddhism, "Three Poisons" takes a humorous approach to meditation through physical exhaustion.
