Triskelion Arts is pleased to present "Cancionero", a new work by 2017 Resident Artist, Julieta Valero. Her company, Rastro, was chosen from a large pool of talented applicants as Triskelion’s first recipient of the Resident Artist program, receiving 100 hours of rehearsal space from January to June 2017 in which to create. "Cancionero" is a nostalgic piece that explores the dichotomy of being alone while within a sea of people. Very much like living in NYC, for many, it investigates that sense of being connected while at the same time feeling very isolated. The movement, combining simple gestures and elaborate choreography, exploits the humanness of the body and its beauty, through a diverse musical backdrop.
