An Evening With New Chamber Ballet
Fri & Sat, April 17 & 18, 8pm
City Center Studio 5
130 West 56th Street
Join us this Friday and Saturday when New Chamber Ballet continues its 2014-2015 season with a mix of new and old works to live music.
The program:
The world premiere of Constantine Baecher's Two Tauri and A Tiger, a colorful trio set to Mozart.
La Mandragore, a new duet to Tristan Murail's scintillating spectral piano piece of the same name.
The revival of Moments, a duet for a dancer and a violinist set to Salvatores Sciarrino's violin Caprices.
Entangled, a quartet on and off-pointe, to Paganini's Caprices (with Doori Na displaying dazzling virtuosity on the violin!)

On Miro's new ballet (photo), dance blogger Philip Gardner reports: "I admired both the physicality and the courage of the two dancers - Traci Finch and Amber Neff - as they plunged with good-natured enthusiasm into the kinds of lifts and mutual contortions that are not the daily bread of most ballerinas."
And writing about the revival of Moments: "in this solo, Elizabeth Brown displayed her lithe physical grace and beautiful line in choreography that demands a poised, slow lyricism... I was entranced by Elizabeth's control and commitment, and realized as she finished the solo that I had overstayed my planned visit by an hour."
