CHEN DANCE CENTER PRESENTS TWO APRIL DANCE EVENTS
April 18-20: newsteps, a choreographer's series featuring six dancemakers
and
April 24-26: EAR TO THE GROUND, a commissioning series for Asian-American artists

newsteps, a choreographer's series, will feature six dancemakers selected through an open audition: Cristin Cawley, Wanda Gala, Juan Michael Porter II, Katie Dean, Mei Yamanaka and Kristen Klein. The young choreographers receive a space grant, honorarium, and are produced in three public performances.

Ear to the Ground, a commissioning series for Asian-American artists, will present works by Chia Ying Kao from Taiwan and Mana Kawamura from Japan. They will receive a space grant, a choreographic commission, and are produced in three public performances.
