Students from New York City and throughout the Tri-State Area annually attend Usdan Center, transported by air-conditioned buses.  Alumni include Natalie Portman, Mariah Carey, Jane Monheit and members of major dance and music ensembles.  The Dance Department, encompassing a variety of styles and also a pre-professional program, is chaired by Maurice Brandon Curry, former Director of the Joffrey Ballet School.

Open Houses give families a chance to obtain information on the more than 40 Usdan programs and to tour the magnificent 200-acre woodland campus.  Families who cannot attend the Open House may make individual appointments for other days.  For more information, call (after January 1) (212) 772-6060 or (631) 643-7900, write to info@usdan.com, or visit www.usdan.com.

NEW FOR 2014: "Theater Dance," for grades 7-12, a 3 or 4-week course (students may attend for either), in the Theater Department, in which students learn dance routines from popular and classic musicals. Choreography may be drawn from the works of Bob Fosse, Jerome Robbins, Susan Strohman and others. The program culminates in a studio workshop. A minimum of one year of previous dance training is required.

A special feature at Usdan are the Festival Concerts, in which often world-famous artists perform and teach master classes. Guests have included members of the New York City Ballet, the Jose Limon Company and cast members of current Broadway musicals.

Usdan Center, now entering its 47th season, has introduced the arts to more than 60,000 students ages 6-18, many of whom have gone on to distinguished careers.
