VALENTINA KOZLOVA ANNOUNCES NYC EVENTS IN MARCH, APRIL, and MAY
March 29 in a City Center Studio, 130 West 56 Street
As the Kozlova International Contemporary Choreographers & Dancers Competition draws closer, Kozlova will hold a panel discussion/performance, featuring some of the judges and personnel connected with the Competition. Presented as a lecture/demo, the participants will discuss the upcoming competition, the first in the contemporary dance field held by Kozlova.
April 28 & 29 at Symphony Space, 2537 Broadway
After three successful ballet competitions, Kozlova goes modern and announces the First Edition of her International Contemporary Choreographers & Dancers Competition, presenting solos, duets, and group dances. Dancers may perform either barefoot or in soft shoes and, unlike the ballet competition, there is no age restriction. Judges are Andris Liepa (Honorary Chair), Patricia Aulestia, Nina Buisson, Tracy Inman, Hae Shik Kim, Virginie Mecene, Wendy Perron, Igal Perry, Risa Steinberg, Margo Sappington, and Septime Webre.
May 10 at Symphony Space, 2537 Broadway
A performance to celebrate the 10th Anniversary of Kozlova's Dance Conservatory, located on West 54th Street in Midtown Manhattan. Conservatory dancers and guests trained and coached by Kozlova will appear, and Kozlova, who retired from performing in 2009, will appear in a solo created for her by Margo Sappington.
