VENOMOUS by BARE Dance Company

Company:
BARE Dance Company
BARE Dance Company is thrilled to be returning to the LaGuardia Performing Arts Center with VENOMOUS after its sold-out world premiere in 2014 as part of the CUNY Dance Initiative. Artistic Director Mike Esperanza will be expanding and elaborating on his original choreography to once again present a unique and exciting theatrical experience for all audiences.
VENOMOUS is about a man struggling to find his true sexual identity. As a witness to this physically difficult, thrilling, and at times lonely journey, the viewer is led through his story. Esperanza was drawn to bringing this piece back due to the ever, persistent problem bullying presents to our society. Upon entrance, seventeen dancers guide the audience through different vignettes, prompting them along the path to their seats, and then drawing them into the ups and downs of this transformative moment in time. Audiences are sat directly on the stage on all sides of the dancers making each other's viewership a part of the overall performance experience.
Tickets start at $20 online/ $25 at the door
