Vanessa Anspaugh’s The End of Men; an Ode to Ocean

Vanessa Anspaugh revisits her work The End of Men; An Ode to Ocean, which premiered to a sold-out run at Abrons Arts Center in June 2016. In this work Anspaugh asks, “What does feminist work look like without women as the subject? What happens when men are directed (by me) to embody their intimacies, and are then left to their own devices?” Anspaugh will screen video from the performance, followed by an open discussion with the audience and some of her collaborators on the process of creating the work and the themes and larger ideas behind it.
