Alessandra Belloni presents her all-women's ensemble, Daughters of Cybele, in the premiere of "Voices of the Tarantate," in observance of Domestic Violence Awareness Month in October. The show will include real stories of women's abuse and their healing, woven into ancient sacred chants, powerful drumming, and healing trance dances from Southern Italy. The unique performing ensemble is schooled in voice, percussion and ritual dance to honor the female energy found in traditions from Southern Italy, Brazil, Africa and the Middle East, emulating one of the most ancient ways of praying and healing.
