Dance/NYC is currently looking for volunteers for our upcoming event, Brooklyn for Dance. The event will be held on Monday, May 23, 2016 from 6:00 - 8:00 p.m. at Mark Morris Dance Center located at 3 Lafayette Ave, Brooklyn, NY with a pre-reception from 5:00 – 6:00 p.m.
About the event
Dance/NYC’s 2016 Brooklyn for Dance event celebrates dance and culture in Brooklyn. This memorable evening will include choreography and cocktails, with dance stars, advocates, patrons, and friends celebrating the borough. Proceeds from this event benefit Dance/NYC’s year-round programming.
Volunteer Opportunities
Currently, we have two volunteer opportunities:
Week-Of: Most of our volunteers will consist of Week-Of volunteers. Week-Of volunteers come in for a total of (two), five-hour shifts — a total of 10 hours. The first shift takes place the week before the event and is flexible upon availability. Tasks include: support with set design, arts and crafts, administration and production. The second shift takes place on the day of the event for five hours. Tasks include: set-up, production, registration, guest relations, and communications. Volunteers will receive an orientation and work detail information upon arriving to their first shift.

Day-Of: Day-Of volunteers attend the event, volunteering for a minimum of five hours. There will typically be two volunteers scheduled per station at all times, as well as other production areas like registration, guest relations, and communications. Volunteers will receive an orientation and work detail information upon arriving to their first shift.
