WASHINGTON, DC: Claire Alrich at Dance Place

Company:
Dance Place
make me a monument is a new, site-specific dance for the Dance Place theater. Choreographed by Claire Alrich, it brings together a collaborative cast of dancers, musicians, fabric curtains, and you (the audience) to explore communal effort, shifting landscape, symmetry, and human relationship to environment.
Image Description: The image features a textured, warm-toned scene where two people are partially obscured by large bundles of colorful fabric strips. One individual, wearing a green sweater, holds the fabric close to their head, while the other, whose arm is visible, holds another bundle of fabric. The fabric strips are a mix of patterns and solid colors, creating a vibrant, chaotic texture. The background is a flat, muted beige tone. The text “Dance Place 2024 – 2025 Season” is visible in the bottom right corner.
