WASHINGTON, DC: UpRooted Dance at Dance Place
A series of poignant vignettes, Circling the Line fuses 2D design with 3D movement using printmaker Susan Goldman’s artworks as muse for movement invention. Under Keira Hart-Mendoza’s direction, the dancers offer movement ideas, creating original choreography in a collaborative laboratory. Hand-printed costumes and imaginative set pieces punctuate the movement with a whimsical, surrealist design aesthetic.
