Welcome to Campfire

On Thursday, March 31st at 7:30pm, join Welcome to Campfire creators Tony & Ingrid for the in-person premiere of their newest short film, Subject, at Quad Cinema, followed by a Q&A discussion with members of the creative team and a special musical performance from singer-songwriter Lia Menaker. After the screening, guests are invited to continue the celebration at a private afterparty at Quad Bar.

Subject is the second short film from production company Welcome to Campfire, and a collaboration with cinematographer and editor Dennis Robert Thomas. In a near-future dystopian NYC, high-end pharmaceutical company Memredux Laboratories is developing the first ever memory-erasing drug. When the public is invited to observe the trial for the first time, two test subjects find themselves swept into an intimate, psychological reckoning with memory and loss.

Quad Cinema is New York's original multi-screen cinema. When it opened on October 18, 1972, it was the first theater in the city to have multiple screens under one roof. This innovation finally gave New Yorkers a range of cinematic options reflective of their hometown’s diversity. Following renovation, Quad Cinema has maintained its DNA, its head projectionist, and its democratic neighborhood spirit just two blocks from Union Square - at a nexus of New York City between uptown and downtown.
