Friends,

It's been a while since we have updated you because we've been spending so much time dancing and not much time talking about it...

As you've probably heard, DNA, a 29 year old institution, and home to hundreds of artists, is closing its doors this Sunday, October 13. I taught my very first dance class there 17 years ago, and taught my very last one today.

DNA is so much more than a building, though. The building was a space where the community of artists could come together to practice, play and perform. All that energy is still alive... I will be continuing to book your favorite teachers (and myself) for daily classes, now at Gibney Dance Center.

I will continue to teach a permanent class on Saturdays, 12-2, starting October 26 (Gibney Dance Center). I will also be in the Guest Artist Program there, teaching intermittently during the weeks, usually on Mondays and Wednesdays at noon. My next series will be October 21-November 8. Mondays and Wednesdays at 12-1:45. Here is a link to find all of the classes that are booked at Gibney Dance Center, as well as many other studios where former DNA artists are moving: http://dancentell.com/

The company continues to work hard on our two new pieces: "Give up, or a Bird lying on its back" and "milkdreams." Here's a sample of our rehearsal process for milkdreams, where we have been learning the dances of Lucas (6), and Ivo (14 months).

We will be performing both of our new pieces in progress at The Green Building January 16 and 17, 2014, before leaving to tour them to Minnesota. As always, you can read and watch our work on our website: www.alexandrabellerdances.org, and like us on Facebook here, w here we will be posting updates and videos of our pieces as they progress and asking for "audience" interaction in the form of asking you questions about dances you'd like to see...

I hope you have an amazing Fall, hope to see you soon in class, come watch your show, or meet each other out there in the big world.

All my best,
Alexandra
