AMATEUR NIGHT AT THE APOLLO IS LOOKING FOR THE BEST SINGERS, DANCERS, COMEDIANS, RAPPERS, SPOKEN WORD ARTISTS AND MUSICIANS.
The long-running, live, weekly talent competition on the world-famous Apollo Theater stage.
Amateur Night at the Apollo Auditions are open to singers, dancers, comedians, rappers, spoken word artists and musicians ages 5 and older. Amateur performances of all styles are welcome. Those chosen from the audition will have the chance to perform and compete on the legendary stage at the world-famous Apollo Theater in New York.

Date: Saturday, March 24, 2018
Time: 9 a.m. to 6 p.m.
Location: The Apollo Theater - 253 W. 125th St New York, NY 10027

Prize Offerings:

There are cash prizes at the end of each evening’s Amateur Night competition.
End of season, SUPER TOP DOG Grand Prize:
$20,000 for Adult category;
$5,000.00 for Child Star of Tomorrow category.
Audition Requirements:
Amateur Night DOES NOT provide travel or hotel to New York City for contestants.
Amateur Night auditions are open to:
singers, dancers, comedians, rappers, spoken word artists, musicians and variety acts.
anyone who DOES NOT have a contract with a major label or studio.
Competition Categories:
"Child Star of Tomorrow" category age requirement: 5 to 17 years of age.
"Adult" category age requirement: 18 years of age and above.
Children under the age of 18 must be accompanied by an adult.
Prizes:
There are cash prizes at the end of each evening’s Amateur Night competition.
End of season, SUPER TOP DOG Grand Prize:
$20,000 for Adult category;
$5,000.00 for Child Star of Tomorrow category.
Additional Requirements:
- An "Amateur" is considered to be anyone who DOES NOT have a recording contract with a major label or studio.
- Each contestant will have up to ninety (90) seconds to audition.
- No band on site for audition.
- Singers can bring a CD, mp3 player or sing a cappella.
- Dancers should bring a CD or mp3 player for their performance.
- Do NOT bring CD’s in CD-RW format.
- Apollo will provide an 88 key-keyboard (Motif 8 - Semi-Weighted) for any auditioning musicians or accompanist.
- Apollo will provide a standard drum kit for any auditioning musicians.
- Any and all other instruments must be provided by auditioning musicians.
- Auditions should be in good taste with no profanity, including racial epithets or slurs (this includes the “N” word).
- Auditions are on a “first come, first served” basis and only the first 250 acts will be seen.
Online Auditions:

You can e-audition for Amateur Night at the Apollo 24 hours per day, 7 days per week & 365 days per year.
Those selected from the online audition have the opportunity to perform on stage at the Amateur Night at the Apollo in New York.
