World Premiere Performances

Taiwanese-American Kun-Yang Lin probes at the limits of national identity, drawing upon Eastern philosophy while expanding the perimeter of contemporary Western dance. Kun-Yang Lin / Dancers, recently settled in Philadelphia after garnering critical acclaim in New York and internationally. Painted Bride presents the company's first evening-length concert in Philadelphia, which will feature the world premiere of "A-U-M", a moving meditation that derives from mystical Hindu tradition. The evening will also include Lin's signature pieces "Emptiness of Snow" and "Chi", plus the Philadelphia premiere of "Shun-Woa" by award-winning choreographer/dancer/singer Janis Brenner.
