Returning to the stage as interconnected as ever, Nugent and Matteson delve further into their renowned history of partnering in their exploration of the body’s boundaries and the charged space between them. The pair’s duet oscillates from energetic sensitivity to the absence of tenderness. Their emphasis on movement cultivates the silence within space, the malleability of time, and the unraveling of physical and perceptual knots in the body–eager for release.
Nugent and Matteson’s professional career together include having been presented by Danspace Project, Symphony Space, Dance Theater Workshop and most recently the American Dance Festival. The duo danced together in the Bill T. Jones/Arnie Zane Company and David Dorfman Dance, among others.
