m i c c a
(Rockaways, New York) m i c c a is pleased to present P I N E, a site-specific performance installation and space for communal grieving on the sands of Rockaway Beach. Set in a memorial-like forest of repurposed Christmas trees, P I N E is a study in loss, grief, human endurance, and the fortitude of community. In addition to the hour-long performance, audience members are invited to honor their lost loved one by contributing their memories to the installation. The January 15th performance will also include a collective meditation by Idgy Dean, musician, theologian, and divinity student.
Check in and dedications for both performances will begin at 3:30pm and the performance will begin at 4pm; the duration of the piece is approximately 60 minutes. The performance is free and open to the public; we encourage audience members to dress accordingly and bring their own seating should they desire it. Warm food and beverage will be available on site for puchase - bring cash or Venmo!
