she is not a comfortable thing

Company:
Anneke Hansen Dance
Anneke Hansen Dance presents the world-premiere of “she is not a comfortable thing” at The Martha Graham Studio Theater @ Westbeth (formerly the Cunningham Studios) in the West Village.
In this evening-length quartet, Anneke Hansen’s choreography contemplates the realities of female identity. The four dancers sweat, struggle, and concentrate. They are covetable and polite, thoughtful and bright. These women stampede your vision with power and ferocious vulnerability, whip the space up with their movement, and wipe it down with their sweat-damp haunches before striding out on their own muscular legs.
Performances take place Thursday through Saturday, October 24 - 26, 2013
- On October 24 and October 25 performances begin at 8pm
- Please note that there are TWO performances at 7pm & 9pm on October 26
Tickets are 20 general admission and 15 for dancers and students and can be purchased through Brown Paper Tickets online or at 1-800-838-3006.
